WINNER OF PRESTIGIOUS CONSTRUCTION NEWS SPECIALISTS AWARD
Chris Sedgeman Scaffolding Limited has won the Access and Scaffolding Specialist of the Year at the 2022 Construction News Specialists Awards.
The inspirational winners of the 2022 Construction News Specialists Awards were crowned in front of the industry on Thursday 22 September at The Brewery in London.
Celebrating its 18th year, the Construction News Specialists Awards brought together more than 500 of the UK’s leading specialist contractors for an evening of celebration, recognition and networking.
Following a rigorous judging process with an independent panel of judges, Chris Sedgeman Scaffolding Limited won in recognition of all their hard work throughout the business. The judges’ comments for Access and Scaffolding Specialist of the Year are “You could really see how passionate Lynn and Chris are about their family business and all the technically challenging projects they have worked on. They ticked every box in our selection criteria and we could have talked for days about their achievements.
What particularly impressed me was their need to constantly evolve and improve their business. From monitoring how their colleagues are performing to bringing in new greener improvements such a solar power and trying new renewable products. I could also tell they were really proud of the people who worked for them, training them up from apprentices to having them branch off and start their own scaffold design companies. I really liked their technical solution to the scaffold used in the sea using the specialist rock climbing anchors.”
Colin Marrs, editor of Construction News said:
“The CN Specialist Awards is always a very special occasion and this year’s event was no exception. At a time of economic uncertainty for subcontractors, it feels more vital than ever to celebrate the incredible work the industry does.
“The entries for this year’s award revealed inspiring stories of innovation, effort and efficiency that bear testament to the industry’s continuing adaption to ever-changing circumstances. It was amazing to see so many recognised and a shame that not every shortlisted entry could win.
“Subcontractors are currently operating under intense pressures. That’s why it is so important to support each other through difficult times. By showcasing the achievements of the industry, I hope Construction News can help boost the confidence of an industry without which there can be no return to economic normality.”
